The Cowboy Challenge

THINK YOU’VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A COWBOY OR A COWGIRL?
Join us for the all-new COWBOY CHALLENGE, a fun new unmounted competition inspired by Cowtown! If you excel at running in cowboy boots, hefting Western saddles, slinging a lasso, stacking hay or straw, and more, then we want you! This fun unmounted competition is happening Saturday, April 11 at 3:30 pm in the Cooper Arena during Equine Affaire. Wear your work gloves, hat, and boots, and show up ready to work — and ready to laugh! Our emcee will be the hilarious stand-up horse girl comedian, Hayden Kristal.

THE COWBOY CHALLENGE 

A short obstacle course will be constructed in the Cooper Arena featuring common chores such as moving hay or bedding bales, wheeling a wheelbarrow, carrying water, measuring feed, hoisting Western tack, coiling ropes, sweeping, stacking buckets, putting on blankets, etc. The fastest, most efficient contestant will claim the trophy as the “Cowboy Challenge Champion”!

PRIZEs AT STAKE
Prizes will be awarded to the top ten participants in each event, as applicable.

FIRST PLACE: Trophy, Equine Affaire T-shirt and hat, and title of “Equine Affaire Cowboy Challenge Champion”
SECOND PLACE: Rosette, Equine Affaire T-shirt
THIRD THROUGH FIFTH PLACES: Rosette, Equine Affaire hat
SIXTH THROUGH TENTH PLACES: Rosette

HOW TO SIGN UP

Visit the Information Booth in the Bricker Building prior to the competition to sign up for one of the Cowboy Challenge events. The number of competitor slots is limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Limit one event entry per person.
