FLEX YOUR MUSCLES! Are you the king (or queen) of the barn chore list? How fast can you muck out a stall? Ever won a hay stacking competition? We want you! This fall, we’re debuting the GREAT EQUESTRIAN FITNESS CHALLENGE! This fun new competition is happening Saturday, November 9 at 3:00 pm in the GGT Arena in the Young Building during Equine Affaire. Show off your hard-earned barn rat muscles in one of three fun barnyard Olympic events! No horses needed. Emceed by Daniel Stewart, this event is a must for your schedule regardless of whether you are competing or cheering in the stands! See you there!
GREAT EQUESTRIAN FITNESS CHALLENGE EVENTS Barn Chores Marathon: A short obstacle course will be constructed in the GGT Arena featuring common barn chores such as moving hay or bedding bales, wheeling a wheelbarrow, carrying water, measuring feed, cleaning tack, lassoing a calf, sweeping, stacking buckets, putting on fly sheet or blanket, etc. The fastest, most efficient contestant will claim the trophy as the “Barn Chores Marathon Champion”!
Bouncy Pony Race: You may be efficient at racing your horse around an arena, but can you race a bouncy pony? Take part in the Bouncy Pony Race and see how quickly you can bounce your way from one end of the arena to the other! Will you lead the whole way or come from behind?

PRIZEs AT STAKE Prizes will be awarded to the top ten participants in each event, as applicable.
FIRST PLACE: Trophy, Equine Affaire shirt and hat, and title of “Equine Affaire Great Equestrian Fitness Challenge Champion” SECOND AND THIRD PLACE: Medal, Equine Affaire shirt and hat FOURTH THROUGH TENTH PLACES: Ribbon
HOW TO SIGN UP
Visit the Information Booth in the Better Living Center prior to the competition to sign up for one of the Great Equestrian Fitness Challenge events. The number of competitor slots is limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Limit one event entry per person.
