Spirit was raised on the Woods Ranch in Arkansas and Tommy Garland, well-known Arabian horse trainer and clinician, picked him out of 10 to compete at the Road to the Horse competition in 2008. Spirit is a 15 hand tall Quarter Horse Gelding that Mr. Garland liked so much, he purchased him after the competition. His son, TJ promptly dubbed the colt Spirit in honor of the Disney character to which he bears a striking resemblance.
Spirit now resides at the Garlands Training Facility in Powhatan, VA.
Frosty is a non-registered, draft-mix cremello gelding. He measures about 15.2 hands tall and is 17 years old.
What is quite interesting about Frosty is that, though he comes from an anything-but-elite background, he has recently posed for one of the most accomplished fashion houses: Chanel.
You can see him in high-fashion magazines as the horse being ridden in the fall ad campaign for Chanel. The photos were taken at Shelburne Farms in Vermont earlier this year.
